"Feminine Divine" “History is literally, His Story, a patriarchal record of time. Feminine Divine is Her Story, a visceral blend of memory and legend that presents a different narrative. Here you will find Queen Makeda of Sheba, and the goddess Mawu-Lisa, and other famous and unfamous females. You might also meet a young girl, full of wonder, clutching a purse decorated with white pearly beads and feathers under a layer of clear plastic. “The purse was so perfect, but I so wanted to touch and feel those satin-coated pearls that I cut through the plastic to get them. I immediately realized my mistake and fate of my purse; just like doll’s hair, once cut, it would never be the same. I could only imagine it’s original beauty and regret my decision to change it.” At its extreme, the myth of the Divine Feminine could be dismissed as idolatry. When we flip the concept, perfection is no longer paramount. The media is mixed: paint, wood, canvas, plastic, glitter, ribbons, feathers and fabrics. The forms are hollow, rigid or stuffed. The image is obscured, and the feeling is where the truth resides.
